I've always appreciated the way Peter Gabriel's simple lexicon contrasts with the overall warmth of his music. His lyrics aren't "Deep," nor will they win him any songwriting awards. When he mixes his simple lyrics with his music, though, it becomes magical. This performance of "Come Talk to Me" is especially magical.
I first heard "Come Talk to Me" when I borrowed a Peter Gabriel live DVD from the band teacher at the school where I used to work. He opened his concert with it and Paula Cole sang backup.
