I know it's not healthy to compare your own music to other music, but how can I not feel a little out of date? I even tried to make this music sound more modern than my first album, but it still seems to come out entrenched so deeply in the rock tradition that I don't think I can find my way out. Perhaps I need to admit to myself that I play rock and roll, that rock is my genre. But it's a frightening thing to admit. It's scary to admit that I'm old hat when I haven't even started. *sigh* I started thinking in this direction, by the way, partly from hearing this wonderful ditty... on the same online post where I saw this one: By the way, I'm in Victoria. I'm taking courses at UVic, but I hope to finish a bit of recording at the end of August. I have to record Kate, Monte, Rachelann, and Briellen before I head back to the Mainland to get a couple more voices and a piano. And then I'll be finished! Weird, eh?
