Back in March, over Spring Break, I went over to Vancouver Island and got a bit of recording work done. I recorded my wife's cousin for some harmonies on "Lightning, then Thunder," and I recorded some background vocals for "Friday Night." I spend an evening with my cousin Kelly who showed me a few things I could do to mix my songs a little better. He showed me some of the music he's made with Sound of Contact and Kuba Oms. I hope to work with him this summer to get them mixed and mastered to an acceptable level. Here are the recording tasks that still need to get done. I need to get Rosanna, my wife's cousin, to sing on "Living the Dream." It seems like it's a lot, but I don't think it will take very long. Most of these people are in Vancouver or on Vancouver Island. I'll do the Vancouver Island recordings June and July, and I'll get Rosanna's voice recorded in Early June when she comes down from Smithers.
I still haven't been able to play live for awhile. I haven't been in the right headspace at all, especially in regards to self-promotion. But I might have more opportunities to play at the local jam nights in the upcoming months.
