I added a new song to the "Under the Covers with Jeff" playlist today. Here's a little pop ditty, originally delivered by Dusty Springfield. Although I've known the song for years, it never really stood out to me until I heard it through the overhead speakers at the local A&W one day. I realized that I'd ignored the song for too long. And here's the original recording. King Crimson's "ProzaKc Blues" is possibly one of their most accessible tracks from their most recent incarnations. I watch the video and can't comprehend how they're putting out so much wonderfully dissonant sounds, with just the four of them on stage. It's amazing stuff. It's tough to make friends as an adult. At least it is for me. I feel as if everybody's too busy, or I'm to busy, to invest in new friendships. Not to mention money—friendships cost money for drinks and babysitters and gasoline. My resources for new friendships are currently pretty thin.
It's hard to know what to say about this ridiculous one-off. My friend and former bandmate Seth had the Whale CD which contained three tracks. This was one of them. And it's wonderfully fun. It may be the silliest. |
